Snaps & Stories
The Antarctic region is as fascinating as it is beautiful so I'm thrilled to be able to share my experiences with you.
On Instagram I am currently sharing my travel notes, photos & videos in chronological, trip report fashion.
Slowly posting everything I found intriguing about the area's history, landscape, wildlife and conservation - from recent trips (see more below) to this region aboard the M/V Hans Hansson.

So excited to be aboard the 86 ft/26m M/V Hans Hansson once again! This time I was one of 10 guests on a fly-cruise Quark Expeditions charter to the Antarctic Peninsula. Flying over the Drake Passage to allowed us more time to explore the South Shetland Islands, the Antarctic Peninsula - and, of course, the Bransfield Strait!
I had the pleasure of visiting the sub-Antarctic island of South Georgia for a one-month cruise aboard the 86 ft/26 m M/V Hans Hansson chartered by Cheesemans Ecological Safaris. We departed from Port Stanley, Falkland Islands and were 'off the grid' until our return 4 weeks later. Witnessing nature at its finest with the island's abundance of Southern elephant seals, penguins, albatross and fur seals - each in various life stages. Even walked in Shackleton's footsteps from Fortuna Bay to Stromness. With just 16 of us on board (including the crew), it made for a very intimate encounter with this legendary island.
